A French 22-Bore Flintlock Holster Pistol By S. Jourjon Of St. Etienne, Circa 1730-40 With long barrel with brass fore-sight on the sighting flat towards the muzzle, plain tang, lightly engraved flat bevelled lock (cock and steel replaced) signed in capitals, later figured full stock with dark horn fore-end cap, cast and chased brass mounts comprising side-plate with vacant oval centred on a grotesque head and pierced foliage, vacant escutcheon with grotesque mask above, spurred pommel with grotesque mask cap, trigger-guard (finial replaced) with recessed panel on the bow, faceted ramrod-pipes (forward one replaced), and later steel ramrod 35.3 cm. barrel Footnotes: Simon Jourjon is recorded in St. Etienne between 1672 and the year of his death in 1752 For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
