A 28-Bore Percussion Box-Lock Pistol, And An Unusual Flintlock Tinderlighter The First By Elias Joseph, Liverpool, Both Early 19th Century The first converted from flintlock, with turn-off brass barrel stamped with Irish registration mark 'DU-2060' for Co. Dublin, border engraved action signed beneath a garland on each side, top-jaw now forming a hammer, thumbpiece safety-catch, trigger-guard engraved with a flower-head, and replacement figured flat-sided butt with vacant shield-shaped escutcheon, London proof marks; the second of box-lock pistol form, with brass tinder-box of tubular form with sprung cover over the 'muzzle', large ovoidal pan, plain action, trigger-guard incised with a star, and flat-sided butt (drilled through and old damage)(2) 13 cm. barrel and 18 cm.
